House K
Renovation of an existing wooden house into a two-family house (a house separated into two independent sections to accommodate two families) We reserved as much existing structures and windows as they were, when we created a spacious living room by removing the preexisting partition walls and ceilings. The newly painted white walls contrast with the rough timberwork exposed above 2.3 m from the floor We also added some beams as structural reinforcement, lighting rails, indirect lights and loft space on the boundary. We aimed to harmonize the different time axes in the house by controlling the boundaries between old and new.
